If you’re not sure whether to choose the Magic Bullet or the Nutribullet, I’m here to help you decide which bullet blender is the better option.
Although both are good for making healthy shakes, smoothies, natural home-made baby food, and sauces while retaining all the nutrients, there are slight differences in their features that make you prefer one over the other. Read on to learn about these differences in capabilities, price, and features.
The first thing you should ask yourself is: What do you want to do with your blender?
Magic Bullet vs. Nutribullet – Full Comparison
Design and Features
The Nutribullet’s jug serves as a container for the consumption or storage of smoothies. It has a slim and small design that is compact enough to sit in a corner or be tucked in a cupboard without occupying much space when not in use.
Its base is a graphite-colored one with a brushed metal finish while its cups, handles, and lids are plastic. Weighing a little under 4 pounds, it’s pretty easy to move around –especially with a power cord that’s almost 5 feet long. It occupies a space of 12.87 x 9 x 13 inches.
The Nutribullet doesn’t come with buttons to switch it on or to change speed and settings –this gives it a very sleek look. Instead, you just screw on the extractor or milling blades and let it do the blending and grinding. You simply put the ingredients inside the cup size you need and push down on it into the base. Then, the motor starts twisting in a cyclone to prepare your product. Once you see that it’s ready, you simply untwist the cup.
On the other hand, the Magic Bullet has a small design, yet it’s a very effective blender with excellent performance. Its footprint measures 13 x 8.5 x 10.5 inches and weighs around 2.3 pounds. However, it’s not the most powerful, so it works with softer produce.
The Magic Bullet, on the other hand, is quite easy to clean, move around, and store. This is due to the small size – barely larger than a coffee cup when the blending jar is taken off.
It also comes with several single-serving jars that are handy when you’re cooking or making personalized recipes such as individual smoothies. You can read the review of the top 6 blenders for green smoothies here.
Performance
Although the quick-start guide doesn’t seem to be the most extensive, the full user guide provides you with enough info to learn how the machine works.
Its functions are divided into what the company calls “NutriBlast” -50% fruit, 50% vegetables, seeds or nuts, and water. You can use the “toxin cleansing blast,” which consists of a mixture of spinach and fruits. The spinach may stick at the top for a while, but giving the base a good shake will solve the issue and thoroughly blend it.
The thinner you want your blend to be, the more water you should add up to the cup. Moreover, you can go for the “immune booster” which is similar to the previous recipe but uses tougher spring greens stalks instead of thin spinach leaves.
You can add some sunflower seeds for an added “boost.” This increases the time the blender takes to produce your final output and might retain more pulp. Finally, you can use the milling blade and small cup to grind some seeds. Your final result will be really soft powder. However, some of that powder can stick around the top of the cup, so you should give it a tap or two before you open it.
On the other hand, the Magic Bullet can blend fruit, make almond butter, and crush ice –however, not as thoroughly as the Nutribullet. Some large chunks of ice or fruits tend to get stuck to the top of that jar or fall into the mixture, making it less palatable.
This is due to the lower power of the blender that’s limited to 250 watts compared to the 600-watt output of the Nutribullet. Moreover, the single speed of the Magic Bullet is limited to 2,000 RPM while that of the Nutribullet is 20,000 RPM.
Washing and Convenience
The Nutribullet’s blades and other parts must be hand-washed or rinsed after every use as its components are not dishwasher-safe.
Both blenders’ components are BPA-free, so they’re absolutely safe and healthy to use. The Magic Bullet is easier to clean as it’s completely dishwasher-safe as it doesn’t have any operating buttons.
A downside to the Magic Bullet is that it’s pretty noisy despite its low power. At 93 dB, this model isn’t very discreet. Finally, it comes with a year’s warranty, including the motor.

Nutribullet vs. Magic Bullet: Which Is Better Overall?
If you’re looking for the blender that will fully pulverize your fruits and vegetables, I’d recommend the Nutribullet. Its milkshakes have a more solid consistency, so if you don’t want them too liquid-like, you should pick it over the magic bullet.
On the other hand, if you’re only going to be making smoothies, protein shakes, and milkshakes, go for the more affordable Magic Bullet.
